Service Description

Discussion Topic: A Practical Toolkit for Affinity Group Facilitators Date & Time: Saturday, February 12, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm ET Affinity groups are intentional spaces designed to build community, increase accountability, and reflect on our identities in the context of equity and social justice. To achieve these goals, facilitators need to be intentional in the strategies used to create brave spaces and meaningful engagement. This training session introduces a variety of tools and facilitation strategies that can be used for effective facilitation and to ensure that your affinity group is centering equity, inclusion, and justice. This training provides opportunities for you to practice facilitation strategies so that you feel more confident in your skills as an affinity group facilitator. *** Affinity groups can be offered for students and employees of dominant and non-dominant identities within schools. Therefore, this is a mixed group session for educational professionals working at any level in the Canadian education system (elementary, secondary, college, university). Some breakout groups in this session will be structured as affinity conversations. If you are interested in this training but the full cost does not align with what you are able to pay at this time, please contact us (info@talkingtogether4change.com).
