  • 97 Canadian dollars
  • Online Discussion (hosted on Zoom)

Service Description

Discussion Topic: Running Affinity Groups with Students Date & Time: Tuesday, June 8 from 7-9 p.m. *** This is a mixed group session that is open to BIPOC and white educational professionals. Do you feel nervous about the idea of running affinity groups for students or confused about how to get these initiatives up and running? Are you concerned about push-back from families, students, or administration? Join the conversation to reflect on concerns about running student affinity groups and the value of this type of student engagement so that you can feel more confident in helping this work be a success at your institution. This is a small, mixed group discussion (15-40 participants) for BIPOC and white educational professionals working at any level in the Canadian education system (elementary, secondary, college, university). Breakout rooms will allow for affinity group conversations. CHANGE MOTIVATOR discussions help participants reflect and grow as educational professionals, keeping you motivated to do social justice work and building your capacity to create change. Connecting with community that both challenges and nourishes can help you ward off the burnout associated with anti-oppression work. If you are interested in being part of this conversation but the full cost does not align with what you are able to pay at this time, please contact us (info@talkingtogether4change.com). We are happy to accommodate alternative pricing options.
