Discussion Topic: Why and How to Run Affinity Group in Schools Date & Time: Saturday, September 25, from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm ET *** This is a mixed group session that is open to BIPOC and white educational professionals working at any level in the Canadian education system (elementary, secondary, college, university). Do you want to run affinity groups at your school but don't know how? Do you feel nervous about the idea of running affinity groups for students or educators/staff? Are you unsure how to properly structure affinity groups to support equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice in schools and/or the workplace? This training session discusses the objectives of affinity groups and strategies that can be used for effective facilitation. We will also address some common questions and concerns that arise when doing this work. You will leave this session feeling more confident in helping affinity groups be a success at your institution.
