Service Description
Accountability Group for White People Dates & Time: Tuesday, April 4 from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18 from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2 from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 from 7-8:30 p.m. Details: -Four meetings (1.5 hours every-other week) -Meet online via Zoom -Maximum 22 participants, and 2 facilitators This accountability group encourages participants to: - Reflect on and discuss your personal and professional experiences of being a white person in Canada. - Identify the traits of white supremacy culture and how they influence us. - Explore how social justice is connected to each person’s lived experiences. - Practice having meaningful conversations about equity and social justice. A snapshot of the types of reflections that will be explored: - Exploring the purpose and value of meeting in affinity group. - Reflecting on and sharing where where we are from. - Understanding white supremacy and white privilege and personal and professional accountability. - Learning to lean into discomfort. - Questioning what we have and haven’t learned about race and racism. - Understanding our relationship to anti-racist work and what it means to be an anti-racist. This accountability group is facilitated by educational professionals who identify as white. Cancellation Policy
A full refund is available for cancellations made at least one week prior to the event. No refund is available if cancellations are made with less than one week’s notice.
